insomnia

yet another sleepless night.

tried to sleep around 2:30am, tossed and turned and finally slept around 3plus.. woke up at around 4plus and was restless the entire time. which kinda explains why i'm awake before 7am, when my class starts at 9am.

bah!!!!!!

many weird dreams and scenarios floating around in my mind.. i wonder if this is my muse giving me creativity juices. hahahaha! doubt it.

i feel stretched to a certain limits when faced with school work. nothing seems to be going right, and i can't seem to churn out the required number of words for assignments. to some, this may seem normal.. but it says something huh, when i always exceed the maximum allocated word count.

i wonder if it's a mental block, hopefully temporary; or if it's more of a burn-out. unlike my many other fortunate fellow-schoolmates, i am not at liberty to do badly in my studies. *sigh* this is very much what we call in chinese, "tong(2) ren(2) bu(4) tong(2) ming(4)".

long weekend coming up very very soon... national day for singapore. to quote the chinese radio dj, "this is a very special year as it is Singapore's 44th birthday". hahahahahahah!

every year also special what!! next year it's going to be special as it is the nation's 45th birthday! lame ley.... when i hear someone say an occasion is very special, i'm anticipating the really special part. not such lame stuff.. such bs.

after the long weekend is assignment submission day. fark. i can't seem to type anything for the assignment.

and i prolly will end up sleeping in class later. omg.

ok, this is definitely waaaaaay overdue.. but i wana post it nevertheless. (ya la, i'm lazy, can?)

as a continuation to the previous post, after dinner we met up with my sis and edwin, and we went over to my new place for mahjong till 12+ then cut cake. (jem said he bought cake, so he went to collect after dinner)

i wanted to test my luck also.. they always say birthday luck very good one. hah. apparently not for me. i lost lor!!! what kind of luck is that! ok la, but at 12am i won la. skeptical about the entire birthday luck thingy. bah. bruff me one wor..

anyway, the cake was super super pretty!!!!!

super pretty right???? it was just as delicious, i tell you! yummilicious!!!!

got many many strawberries on the cake.. yummmmmm..!

the cake was super delicious... hehe.! then after that they threw the stupid cream on me. so i threw back. wahahahahahaha! my poor sister ended up having to help me clean the place.. haha sorry baobs! muacks!

Happy 21st!! (on 8th nite)

uhaven't gotten around to blogging about my 21st cos was busy.. busy celebrating, that is. wahaha.

am admiring my pressies now. anyway, have many many photos to put up.. some are not so clear cos it's taken using my new hp.. bought a N70 for myself a day before my birthday.. a 21st birthday gift to myself.. hahahahaa.

went to sun with moon @wheelock on the 8th night.. jem called to reserve seats at 3pm therefore we had a very cozy booth.. (others can only sit at the common area and watch with envy.! muahhaha!) =]

the entire restaurant has soft lightings.. there were booths as well as tables (haha! we got a booth to ourselves!!) and around the booths were some transclusent curtain-thingys hanging around, giving a sort-of romantic atmosphere.. the fluffy cushions were a plus point, and i already liked the place before settling down. (our booth looks something like this.. but nicer.. this was the booth opposite ours. super nice rite???)

was hungry so got down to ordering their food.. a tad pricey, i would say. oh well. paying to sit in nice booth with cushions all. wad to do... bah.

wanted to order this appetizer.. 7 types of finger food on a satay stick.. but too expensive.. 17+++ man.. bo hua.

drinks were served first. i had guava tea, jem had peach tea. his peach tea was super pretty, with all the fruits in it!! mine had only some petals. =[ but both were pretty good.

then came the food.. jem ordered zaru soba which is cold noodles.. i've never fancied sobas. he seems to enjoy it though. i like how they present their food.. appeals to me.. don't you think the colour of the pickes are very nice? hehe! me likey.!! =]

so while watching him eat the soba with much relish, another dish came. his again. it's called salmon kamemeshi.. basically minipot rice with salmon and salmon roe.. they have this mini hourglass on top.. cute. =]

it looks like this when it came.. not very appealing rite.. but very amusing to see the hourglass on top of the minipot.. hehe! reminds me of saunas and big bathtubs in japan..

it looked so mysterious.. but it smelled really good.. looked as good when i opened for a teeny-weeny peek. hehe (actually looks much yummier.. but i think my photographic skills are limited. =[ sad.)

of course by now my food have to arrive. hungry ok. i ordered unagi don. ok yes yes, boring.. but i like!

looks good? it was really yummy! plump grains of rice and two fat pieces of unagi sitting on top of them.. ready to be eaten by me!

muahaha!

not too salty, but i kinda got full from it halfway through.

while i was eating, this very interesting dish was served. ebi and kaki gratin. prawns and oysters with citron-miso gratin. very huh? rite?

it's actually prawns and oysters (and potatoes as well) with broth, covered with cheese and made to bake for awhile. (my guess)

looks nice eh? it had salmon pieces in it too.. but a little salty. and the dish kept moving out of place whenever i was digging for the food. (yes, digging. it was stuck quite firmly to the bottom of the dish.)

the gratin was slightly too cheesy for me, so i ordered another item on the menu. ebiten roll. superb.! presentation is good, prawns were crispy, and the rice were not too sticky nor too sour, like how sushi from sushi bars tend to be very vinegar-ish and the rice always seem to be stuck on the prawn or cucumber or whatever. this was good.. six pieces only.. very little hor.. but i like.! me likey! =]

after all the food, i was bursting at the seams, but jem still wanted ice cream. i was thinking green tea.. but we never got to eating it in the end cos of mj. hahaha.! (actually after dinner still got jie mu, but pics i can't find yet, so next post then continue!)

bought this cute 'zhao(1) cai(2) mao(1)' pouch today.. super cute..!! me likey!! =] now can put all my barang barang inside.. =]

just learnt that i could upload pics via blogger.. haha so suaku.. ignore the fax machine pls. the pouch is uber cute rite!! the red oval thing is supposed to be the japanese god which brings good luck.. and the small cat is just that i found it cute so i bought it and hung it with the pouch.. cute!!

yesterday went to swarovski.. saw quite afew necklaces and bracelets that i like.. ask my uncle to buy for me.. hahaha! (swarovski webbie is down so cannot put up the pics)

also got my first birthday present from mum yesterday.. yippee yay!! love her to bits.! she bought me a heart-shaped pendant + necklace.. hhehehee!! super duper likey!!!!!

none of the pics i took of the necklace are nice, and i dun wanna discredit the necklace so never put up.. but i fund a very similar pendant from tiffany & co.. it's the pendant minus the elaborate necklace and the diamond-studded clasp.. nice???

today is valentines day. exactly one year ago, i was still rushing my prototype. i remembered meeting bai and staying in school till like, very late. let's just say it was not a very good day. haha.

several hours ago, i returned from xuemin's birthday chalet-party-thingy. super. tired, that is. not fun ah. wahahahahahahaha!! (kidding ah. later ah min kill me. hehe!!)

it was held at chevrons near IMM. naturally, i was lost, as usual. by the time i crawled there, rg was gone. never even wait for me. sad. =[ hmpf.

it was super crowded at her chalet. hordes of people there. saw many many many many many adidas paper bags. *jealous* think she is kinda too popular for her own good. heh.

but nevermind. i think i rather recieve many many lee hwa/citigems/swarovski paper bags for my birthday. hehehe!! *hint hint people!!*

i can just imagine people like lindsey saying stuff like 'paper bags only mah, oso never say must have bling inside!'

i think it's kinda late for my resolutions, but i suppose i can go according to the lunar new year... so, um, ya. heh.

was suppposed to go to some japanese restaurant for dinner.
didn't have time to go. (reservation was at 6pm)

anyway, when called to cancel the reservation, an auntie picked up the phone.
an extract fo the conversation:

me: hi, i would like to cancel my reservation.

auntie: why you not coming anymore?

me: (stunned for a moment that she would actually ask me such a question.) huh? err. no time.

auntie: orh.. ok lor. i cancel for you. next time when you free then come down lor!

me: huh? ok ok. bye bye.

haha. the auntie is funny. the whole conversation was in chinese btw.
(she's an auntie lor. waddya expect? british accent?)

besides ba kwa, oranges and ang pows, this year i had something else to occupy my entire CNY as well.

no. it's not the iip project. (although it should have been)

actually, this CNY is one of the worst CNY ever.
(ok, minus the cash collected from all my ang pows anyway. hah!)
did not do my hair. (i.e. colour, highlight + cut)

it's quite a big issue for me.
(ok, i admit. i'm vain. so shoot me. :P)
used to go to reds and sit there from 12pm-8/9pm just because of my hair.
miss those days.

other than hair, also had the prototype to finish.
before CNY was common test week.
had exactly 10 days to complete the prototype.
but during that 10 days it was CNY.
(well, had to go to my relatives' houses to bai nian, ok.)
talk about rush!
